Assembly Systems
Product assembly is arguably the most exciting part of manufacturing. Wes-Tech's assembly automation solutions get you to market faster with high quality products and robust test data to support informed decisions. Wes-Tech assembly and test systems deliver increased throughput, improved quality, waste reduction, optimized use of floor space, better data collection, and opportunities for system re-deployment.
Fully automated solutions do not require human operators but use assembly robots instead. Fully automated assembly lines are best in situations when labor is hard to find or too expensive, or the tasks involved are repetitive, dangerous, or require a level of precision exceeding human abilities.
Semi-automated solutions incorporate human operators into the automation process at places where human skill is the most beneficial.
Wes-Tech has installed thousands of fully automated and semi-automated component assembly systems. We carefully consider the labor situation of each manufacturer when developing an automated solution.
We partner with manufacturers in the design of the end product itself. By designing for automated assembly, we ensure that components are not only compatible with robotic systems but also facilitate a smoother production flow, reducing assembly time, and minimize errors. This proactive approach will help you achieve higher quality standards and greater efficiency in your operations.
Innovative Automated Joining Processes
At its core, assembly is about automated joining processes.
Locating and Squaring
Before anything can be joined, the precise points for joining must be identified for assembly. We’re masters at locating and squaring, even with slightly out-of-specification components, saving parts from the scrap heap and repeatedly turning them into quality finished products.
Fastening Automation Systems
We automate joining components together using fasteners such as screws, bolts, rivets, and brackets. Fastening automation ensures consistently properly fastened parts.
Automated Pressing Solutions
Pressing automation compresses materials together during assembly to ensure a tight connection between parts. Automated presses operate at faster speeds than manual setups.
Dispensing Automation
Automated dispensing places a controlled amount of bonding material on surfaces to join parts together. Because automated dispensing uses the right amount of adhesive every time, it minimizes waste and improves product quality through consistent bonding material application.

Automated Welding
Welding automation achieves strong joints with continuous, defect-free bonds. Automated systems promote worker safety and mitigate risk by keeping humans away from welding hazards such as heat and arc flashes.
Insertion Automation
Insertion automation pushes one part, such as pins, into another part to create a mechanical fit. Press-fit systems insert bearings, bushings, or shafts into housings, while snap-fit automation snaps plastic parts together and cable tying assemblies join cable or tubes. Robotic insertions are far faster than manual insertions, dramatically increasing throughput.

Comprehensive Automated Testing Solutions
Automated test equipment is often integrated into assembly systems to ensure proper operation of component assemblies and/or final products. Serialized parts can be individually tracked through assembly and testing processes for lot and batch control records.
Leak Testing
Automated leak testing is a critical quality control process used to make certain that components are properly sealed.
Wes-Tech uses pressure decay, vacuum decay, differential pressure, mass-flow, and helium mass spectrometry methods to detect leakage. The selection of the test method depends on the volume of the part and allowable leak rates.
Electrical Testing
Automated electrical test systems verify that every product meets quality control requirements by evaluating electrical parts for safety and functionality.
By automating electrical testing of critical features and functions, manufacturers can ensure higher reliability in their products, while also significantly reducing the time and labor costs associated with manual testing.
